Wynter Andrews: NHS trust fined £800k over baby’s neglect death

Can someone explain how this works?
Where does the money come from ?
Why aren’t they prosecuting the head of the trust themselves who has neglected maternity care since 2020. Its not like the fine goes to the parents. It’ll either go to the government’s coffers or just be reinvested right back into the trust that can’t be trusted (eyyy) with its spending. Meaningless display.
It’s sad that her baby died, but this is just gonna take resources away from other patients.
Sadly not surprising considering maternity care in the UK is quite poor compared to the rest of Europe
Considering that the fine is paid for funding intended for patient care, a far better outcome would be to jail the head of the trust.
