  1. Genuinely shocked no one mentioned violent video games…

Whenever terrorists are a certain ethnicity its normally cos they are sad and play too many violent video games.

Wow people really missed the /s… good job folks…

  2. What’s really fascinating to me is how the far-right Neo Nazi groups idolise the likes of Al Qaeda and ISIS, and share many values with them.

Young disenfranchised men having no outlet for their anger at their positions in life other than other ethnicities, belief systems, sexualities, and genders.
Who get groomed by extremists due to how vulnerable they are, the same as with young gang members.

Even the likes of Andrew Tate growing in popularity shows how easily younger generations are, particularly on social media, groomed by propaganda even when the kids/young adults aren’t in vulnerable situations.

Feels like it’s a symptom of a poor education system and younger people feeling hopeless in this country.

  3. Surely it’s obvious to everyone that the cause is the rise of identity politics? White straight males are at the bottom of the totem pole.

Telling young white straight males that their struggles aren’t real because the system is racist, sexist and homophobic in their favour.

  4. If these guys weren’t doing far-right stuff they’d be channelling their anger in other ways. These are damaged individuals, the politics is irrelevant.

People don’t go around murdering others or whatever unless they’re already messed up.

These ‘worries’ are just the establishment playing games. If they really cared they’d help these young men before they got any where near a political ideology.

  5. I think it’s time we as a society talk about restrictions on social media and the internet for kids/teens, as someone who is part of the first generation to grow up with it, I’ve barely seen any good come from it, young girls are more depressed than ever and are self harming at unprecedented levels, almost directly linked with social media; young lads are easily accessing websites that groom/manipulate them into terrible ideologies.

Our laws regarding the internet have not kept up with the rapid progression of it, you can be anyone on the internet and do anything, which can be good in certain circumstances but in this case it’s terrible.

  6. Propaganda is incredibly effective and social media algorithms push it because it keeps people engaged and makes both the SM companies and content creators rich. The far right is just one kind of propaganda. There are people making a living pumping out anti Meghan Markle videos, for example. Social media is full of deranged women who are obsessed with her. Until the people who run YouTube etc. grow a conscience it’s just going to get worse. Elon Musk at Twitter actively encourages the far right and amplifies its conspiracy theories, hiding behind the concept of free speech.
