Calvin Klein ad with FKA twigs banned for objectifying women. #Shorts #CalvinKlein #BBCNews

You’ve probably seen this Calvin Klein advert in your feed okay so maybe you watched it more than once but here’s one you won’t be seen in the UK anymore this FKA Twix Calvin Klein ad is been banned because the UK’s advertising regulator has found it was likely to cause serious

Offense by objectifying women two people had complained that the images in the ad were overly sexualized offensive and irresponsible so it went to the ad regulator who said the focus was on the model’s body rather than the clothes being advertised presenting her as a stereotypical sexual object but Calvin

Klein has defended it saying it’s similar to ads released in the UK for many years and that all conventionally sensitive parts of the body were fully covered the brand said FKA twigs had collaborated to produce the image and she had approved it before it was released

  1. I don't see why it's been banned. It's nice that they asked her. But if she's okay with it and uncovered bits and bobs aren't shown to unsuspecting people, then there's nothing wrong. Which is exactly what's been done here. There are clothes you want to feel sexy in and clothes you don't. How are you supposed to show that they're sexy? Just like this. I don't think it's overtly sexual. It's just the right amount of sexual for the product, the underwear. Aren't the men annoyed that they're never asked because nobody cares generally?

  2. Sex sells.
    Controversy sells.

The attention alone is worth billions. Who's talking about any other brand right now?🤔

Calvin Klien probably made more money BECAUSE the ad was banned👈

  3. Here's our new underwear model fully clothed stuffing a pillow so someone doesn't think she's discriminating against larger models oh yeah can't see the underwear we're trying to sell because it has to be fully covered but trust me it's good underwear said no advertiser ever. Liberals gone mad 🤡 🌍

  4. The human body is s beautiful piece of art . Especially if its in its healthy state its about interpretation… If your mind is in the gutter, then you'll see it in the gutter. If your mind sees the beauty, then you'll see it as beautiful

  5. Only when it’s a female, what about all the other ads with men in? are they not objectifying to? Guess not cause it’s a man instead of a woman. How stupid.

  6. Okay then why not ban the Nick Jonas ones. I am offended as a man that he has such an absolutely enormous package and great body and feel like it puts pressure on men. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  7. How dumb. These crybaby "politically correct" people and the "me too" girls are ruining society and culture around the world. Not to mention the "pick a gender" trans freaks…human culture has sunk so many levels the past few decades

  8. Two people complained? Two?
    1) Have they never seen her music videos in which she is often in the same poses?
    2) The ad garnered, presumably, millions of views before being “reported” by two people so why did the regulator not do some simple maths and see that the ratio of people being “offended” vs the ratio of people not caring was extremely one sided?

  9. It's crazy to me that body positivity (not even nudity, she was still about as covered as anybody in a Calvin Klein ad,) is seen as wrong in this case. Are we in 2023 or 1823?

  10. Another concern is her photoshopped face. It's like the picture is distorted, especially the lower part of her face (too narrow). I guess women need to have unnatural barbie-like face proportions (as well as unnatural body proportions)?
