  3. I like it the total lack of common sense these supposedly intelligent business people exhibit is so funny. I speak as an uneducated man with an abundance of common sense who worked for Alan Sugar in the mid 1980’s who went on to have a very successful career in the semiconductor industry

  4. The finger pointing ‘you’re fired’. It didn’t start with this show. I was in a meeting in the Boardroom in Brentwood House in the 1980’s when Alan pointed that finger at my boss and said ‘Simon you haven’t got a fu*king clue where all those drives are’

  5. He was talking about the Western Digital and Seagate hard disc drive and controller fiasco with the 2000 series computers. There were thousands of hard drives and controllers being returned under RMA every week

  6. The man is hard and fair. At that fateful meeting I saved my boss and said ‘Alan I know where all the drives and controllers are and I can have the information on your desk 30 minutes after the meeting’. Two days later the Finance Director came to my desk with an envelope. Two premium tickets for the FA Cup Final replay between Spurs and Man City. Ricky Villa’s goal went down in history me and my brother were there.
