  1. I remember hearing about it. I was on vacation in Japan. My heart dropped when I heard the news. I'm going to Paris in mid to late December of this year, hopefully it will be ready when I visit. Last time I saw Notre Dame was in 2006 while vacationing there.

  2. What’s wonderful about this restoration is that it has created a great intersest in the Gothic Architecture and has made it an industry that will go one and preserve many other magnificent French churches and churches all over Europe and England. It has attracted young people too, and that’s the best part of all. I’ve noticed the related videos here on YouTube that are about restoration of 19th century gothic chateaux’s, some are medieval and were restored and embellished and added to by Violet de Luc who designed the flèche at Notre Dame de Paris.
Augustus Welbey Northmore Pugin was/is the British counterpart who also created magnificent works such as Westminster Palace….which is also in the midst of a thorough restoration. This is all another reason not to get into another world war.
Trump will prevent this from happening.

  3. One imagines that all of the craft persons, engineers, scientists, conservators, firemen, everyone involved in the restoration of this world monument, that they all would enjoy a profound and lasting sense of achievement from having participated in this marvellous project. Glory to France! Bravo!
