Going to give a boring answer here, but gates are *usually* not 100% assigned/decided until the plane has landed and taxied off the runway.
With that being said, many airlines tend to use the same gate for the same flight.
How else are we going to bore you into boots for the 10th time?
All right then, keep your secrets

Surprised Ryanair haven’t monetised this tbh. £5 to get notified your gate 5 mins earlier
I hate that 🤣 🤣 especially when my family waman show up extra early
They should be called aeroports, it’s sounds better
I assumed that was give me time to get wasted in Spoons at 4:30 in the morning.
Don’t mind this, the thing that annoys me is not opening check in until like an hour or two before the flight, so you get to wait in the boring part of the airport for hours, then panic through security and only get like 30 mins in the good part of the airport.
If you know your airline and which model of plane you’re flying with you can usually find your gate long before it’s announced.
this is peak British humor!

Why would you want to spend a minute longer than necessary by the gate
Never understood this, I got there hours early once (first trip overseas alone, was shit scared so I got there about 5 hours early) and about an hour and a half before my flight I got called to the desk, I could’ve been through security much earlier
