Penny Mordaunt accuses Labour of doing ‘damage’ to house speaker
Two significant things happened yesterday and I’m not sure all honorable members have clocked firstly it fell to the government benches to defend the rights of a minority party in this house if the honorable lady opposite cannot bring herself to reflect on the appalling consequences of her party’s actions yesterday if she cannot
Rise above the narrow and immediate needs of her weak and fickle leader to fulfill her duties to this house as its shadow leader perhaps she might like to reflect on the damage her party has done to the office of the speaker I would never have done to him
What the labor party have done to him yeah secondly we have seen Into the Heart of Labor’s leadership nothing is more important than the interests of the labor party the labor party before principle the labor party before individual rights the labor party before the reputation and
Honor of the decent man that sits in speaker’s chair [Applause] yeah
Penny Mordaunt said the Labour party had ‘done damage’ to the office of the speaker as more than 50 MPs signed a motion of no confidence in Sir Lindsay Hoyle.
Mordaunt said it had fallen to the government to defend the rights of the Scottish National Party and added that the Labour party should reflect on the damage it had done to the office of the speaker.
Dozens of lawmakers stormed out of Britain’s parliament on Wednesday with tempers flaring as the three biggest political parties sought to outmanoeuvre each other over a vote on a ceasefire in Gaza. The uproar followed a decision by the speaker to ignore precedent and allow a vote which helped the opposition Labour Party avoid a large-scale rebellion among its own lawmakers over its position on the Israel-Hamas war

He did damage to himself, resign he is not strong enough.
She is deluded
She has no proof so isnt she lying in parliament?
she should resign and take the rest of her muppets with her
As if she's an angel herself
Conservative party using the Gaza tragedy to try to throw muck at Labour to get it infighting and try to win themselves votes. Disgusting hypocrites.
I DO NOT CONSENT is a valid vote, don't let embody tell you different
Tory’s are bad, but labour will be worse
And who collapsed proceedings yesterday because she knew here party’s amendment would fail?
Just flip everything she says round to her own party and you have been inducted to the tory party. Trump tactics afoot.😊
Plays politics when it suits her – but looks as miserable as sin every week without fail during PMQs…. 🙄😒
People have little trust in politics.
Labour made that significantly worse.
Penny Mordant – Poundland Maggie.
Thats the problem with Labour party they are two faced, no principles.
reminds me of the great Lady Thatcher
That's precious, while both the tories and the SNP are the bullies actively punching Hoyle's face while saying Labour "why are you hurting him?"
Classic gaslighting.
“Weak and fickle leader” … which is going to absolutely crush tories at the next elections.
She would say that because she's in opposition,Rishi Recession probably said to her 'put on a convincing show or i'll sack you'.
The SNP "leader" is a travesty. He pretends to care about what is happening in Gaza. But really he was just trying to use murdered children as a method of attacking Labour. He wanted to cause division in the Labour Party with this vote. That's why he sent letters to Labour MPs but not to Conservative MPs or Lib Dems. If it had really been about Gaza he would have written to ALL MPs, wouldn't he? It's notable that the SNP actually got what they wanted yesterday. The Labour motion to call for a ceasefire was unanimously carried – and in fact the Labour motion went further than the SNP proposal. Yet he's furious. Why? Because his proposal contained a single sentence that had nothing to do with calling for a ceasefire that would have caused division within Labour. Note that last Autumn when the SNP proposed a motion calling for a ceasefire it wasn't carried but there was a Labour rebellion. Flynn didn't say a word. His motion failed but he got what he really wanted. So what is his real motive? Why is he so angry? Because the speaker has ruined his plot to cause trouble within Labour's ranks. It seems that this is a man entirely without honour, a man who would step over the bones of dead children and babies just to cause friction in an opposing party that is now more popular than his own. For that reason he is not fit to be an MP.
how is it that personal attacks (here at 0:36 : « weak and fickle leader » ― but both sides resort to it on occasions…) are still part of the culture of the House of Commons ? how can this be considered proper parliamentary language ? it's so childish it's not even acceptable in schoolyards…
isreali puppets!
Labour tried to cheat Democracy ( the people now know what Starmer is all about) he is willing to destroy our nation just to govern ( he's disgusting)
🇬🇧🤡🌎🇬🇧🤡🌎🇬🇧🤡🌎
Perhaps she and her party members should reflect on the damage they’ve done, and continue to do, to the country.
Sanctimonious Tories lecturing…….on ethics and standards of all things. Absurd isn’t it?
Irony overload from Penny Pugwash, considering her government has gone out of its way to damage democracy and bypass parliamentary scrutiny.
"Doing damage" but not describing Israel 😂 this is whole nother level of sham. They care more about procedures then an actual genocide.
No wonder this Country is in SHAMBLES…not only am i ashamed of our Government but they are the laughing stock in other nations.
Where was Mordaunt and her sham indignation when Jonson and co were breaking all the parliamentary rules in the book (including breaking the law). Unusually blind, deaf and dumb then wasn't she? A hypocrite who fits well in with all the current Tories. Conservatives – party before country, every time
I don't understand why mandrake mordor is bashing Labour. If the tories (goverement) hadn't pulled out of the thing, then all 3 parties (tory, lab, snp) would have been able to vote on the thing. so surely it's the fault of the tories?
She's brilliant love her true leader
Reform
She should be the next prime minister in the UK. She has balls
