Wanda Sykes and the mosquito man | The Graham Norton Show – BBC

Uh wand I hope you don’t mind but uh do you mind telling the couch uh when you were young the things that you did as children your your fun oh well we grew up where my grandparents Liv it was like just woods and you know not a not a lot

Going on out there so the thing that would entertain us would be when the Mosquito Man would show up um the Mosquito Man it you know they come and they spray for you mosquitoes and back then it was just straight deep it wasn’t any you know friendly uh pet friendly or

Anything like that pesticide so he would show up and to us it was like the ice cream man you know other neighborhoods would get dinging ding ding ding but we were and we would just lose our minds we run behind the truck and play in that

Fog it’s like oh it’s the mosquito man you can’t see me around Plant tag and and the Mosquito Man was an because instead of saying kid get out of here he would just like shoot us like like he was like trying to clear a path to get out of you

Know get the worst chemicals we just mouth wide open and then when he would leave we would thank him thank you m man come back soon [Applause] okay

Wanda Sykes jokes that where she grew up, the kids would get excited with the mosquito man turned up to spray deet in her neighbourhood, running behind the van like he was the ice-cream man.

With Graham are Hollywood great Jodie Foster, starring in the latest season of TV drama True Detective: Night Country, Oscar winner Olivia Colman, talking about her new mystery comedy Wicked Little Letters, US comedy great Wanda Sykes, whose new Netflix special is Wanda Sykes: I’m an Entertainer, doyenne of British TV Lorraine Kelly, discussing her debut novel The Island Swimmer, and Austin Butler and Josh Brolin, two of the stars of new sci-fi epic Dune: Part Two.
