The Israeli army published footage on Sunday (February 25) said to show the aftermath of a combat operation in the Abasan area in eastern Khan Yunis.

The military said in an accompanying statement that they had killed dozens of Hamas terrorists and located weapons and launchers during the raid in that region of Gaza. The footage showed a rocket launcher, explosives, grenades, cartridges, Kalashnikov rifle and communication devices. One of the building was identified by the army as a medical laboratory.

Israeli troops and Hamas terrorists clashed throughout the Gaza Strip over the weekend, as mediators picked up the pace of talks over a possible ceasefire to free hostages held by Hamas and bring a measure of Ramadan respite to the battered enclave.

Prospects for securing any truce looked uncertain, however, with Israel saying it was, in parallel, planning to expand its sweep to destroy Hamas.
