Hello from Slovakia,
I was looking through the Wikipedia page [Politics of Liechtenstein](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_Liechtenstein) and was thinking about a few things. So I thought that I could get information and answers from people who are from Liechtenstein.
1. Can you please give me a brief overhaul of the main parties and what have they done and accomplished?
2. What is the difference between FBP and VU?
3. Why did several MPs left du and entered DPL?
4. What do people think about the monarchy, government and itโs handling of coronavirus?
5. What is the public view on LGBT+ rights and womenโs equality?
6. How hard is it to get the Liechtensteinese (Iโm sorry if I butchered that) citizenship and/or work permit for someone from the EU and where can I get more info?
Thank you ๐โค๏ธ
(P.S. you have a beautiful parliament)

Hi, I live in Liechtenstein and also have the Liechtenstein Passport.
I don’t really care about political parties because all in all they don’t really do anything.
And for number 6 you can enter the lottery to be able to live here and then you have to live here for 30 years or else you could just marry someone from Liechtenstein and live here for 30 years to get the passport as far as I know.
1. This is quite a task ๐ I can’t really name specific achievements. Basically **VU** and **FBP** have been sharing power for a long, long time. So in a sense they are responsible (probably to an equal amount) for the development of the country since WW2. **FL** is a green-leftish party that is doing opposition work since the mid 90s. They push for classic green and social democratic values (environment, equality, social systems etc.). **DU** and **DPL** are basically the same party and only recently popped up. They are positioned to the political right of FBP and VU (maybe comparable to AfD in Germany) and are also doing opposition work. In my view they have so far mostly blocked political advances of the other parties.
2. They only differentiate on minor topics. Both operate in the same political spectrum. VU used to be a social liberal party but have evolved into mostly the same as FBP, maybe slightly more liberal.
3. There was an internal quarrel. Rumors say that they might unite again, as the founder of DU has quit his political career.
4. **Monarchy:** According to recent popular votes, 2/3 of the population are supportive of the status quo. **Covid:** Can’t really comment on this. The measures taken are mostly aligned with Switzerland and I’d say most people understand the necessity.
5. For this you have to understand, that Liechtenstein is a “countryside” state. Society is generally rather conservative and the state has a strong connection to the catholic church (no separation of church and state). Gender equality is historically an issue (women’s suffrage introduced only in mid 80s). However, chances are high for the next PM being a woman. LGBTQ+ rights are slowly being aligned with neighboring countries.
Note: Those remarks are my opinion, you might get a vastly different answer from somebody else.

I’m a Liechtensteiner. To answer question 2: The VU is the conservative party and FBP is the very conservative party.
