Day 50 – The High Point of every country: Monaco – Chemin des Révoires 167 m (548 ft)

  1. A long staircase on a steep hillside full to the brim with mansions and condos, the high point of tiny little Monaco fits the mood of the rest of the country, claustrophobic hyper-wealth. I have been in Monaco once briefly, I took a bus from Cannes over for the day back in 1998. All I really recall is seeing a Lambo and this feeling of overwhelming glitz, I was a stoner backpacker and I did not fit the vibe Monaco strives to exude. I didn’t fit in in Cannes either but it was during the film festival so it was just a party which I knew how to do quite well. I stayed at the Hotel California in Golfe-Juan, it was wild. Here’s an interesting tale of money, murder and Monaco: [https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2014/11/helene-pastor-murder-monaco](https://www.vanityfair.com/style/2014/11/helene-pastor-murder-monaco)
