Explainer: Are the clocks changing bad for our health?

Are the clocks changing bad for our health some people think so but why do the clocks actually go back and forward British summertime or daylight saving time was introduced to the UK back in 1916 the idea was that you could make the most of the increased sunlight

During the summer months by waking up an hour earlier the clocks go forward an hour at 1:00 a.m. on the last Sunday in March and then the clocks go back an hour at 2 a.m. on the last Sunday in October returning to Standard time otherwise known as grwi meantime but

Some people want this to change there are argument is that changeing the clocks can disrupt sleep patterns something which can lead to both mental and physical health problems it has been suggested that sticking with British summertime all year round could be the answer but critics say this is all well

For certain areas until it gets to Winter more Northerly places would experience darker mornings and there would be less sunlight for Farmers to work with in 2019 the European Parliament actually voted to put an end to Daylight Saving Time in all EU countries but these plans have since been put on hold

The clocks will go forward by one hour this Sunday ⏰

This means one hour less in bed 💤 But are the clocks changing bad for our health?

  1. Working a disrupted shift pattern can seriously mess with your sleep schedule/mental health…
Try getting employers to acknowledge that.

  2. The clock should stay as British Summer all year round….I personally don’t see the need to be putting the clock back and forth twice throughout the year. Putting the clock back in Winter just makes it darker for longer.
