Duke of Kent Hands Over MAJOR Role to Prince Edward

Duke of Kent Hands Over MAJOR Role to Prince Edward

This was the incredible farewell the Duke of Kent received as he made his final visit as Colonel of the Scots Guards today.

Edward, Queen Elizabeth II’s cousin, held the title for a remarkable 50 years, making him the longest-serving person in the role.

He officially stepped down after attending his final Scots Guards Black Sunday parade in Westminster.

The 88-year-old will be replaced as the head of the regiment by the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke of Kent said he was “delighted” that Prince Edward will continue to “champion all that you do and work towards preserving your great legacy”.

  2. Edward is a worthy successor indeed,But what a situation the family has come to..without more male prince's to hand over patronage to …Poor Edward will have to pin on even more medals!..on a extra body suit..😅

  3. A masonry leader, that’s really bad. Queen Elizabeth II was a great leader. This cousin is worse than US presidents and secretary of states. I hope someday people knows who did 9/11, 7/7 or 11-M

  4. His dedication to service and duty to Monarchy & his country is appreciated , hope you enjoy a well deserved happy retirement, Thank you Duke of Edinburgh I’m sure will do a wonderful job ❤️❤️

  5. The Duke of Kent, called "Steady Eddie" for his steadfast service to the late Queen, and now the King, will leave large shoes for Prince Edward to fill. I can think of no better example of duty and loyalty to the Crown and country than his life.

  7. God bless you Sir, for your years of service to the country and being such a good example to others. When you were on the balcony with QEII there was no one who was a better representative. I wish you well. We can all still learn a lot from you. Thank you for your service.
