At $2000/GB I think we can all agree that this is absurd.
Free roaming is only for the European Union, which Monaco does not belong to
Use a different carrier that has a less absurd roaming charge. It’s your carriers fault, not Monaco’s.
Monaco Telecom are stealing whores who also provide a terrible service which would be sub-par in third world countries. They have a monopoly so they can do whatever they want and nobody can say anything. My girlfriend is always in the same case when she comes and there is no other way than calling it legalized theft.
If you plan on staying a bit it would be worth to buy a French sim card and use that so you don’t have any overcharge.
If you are by car be also careful where you park because in this period they are out for blood and have also increased the parking ticket to a whooping 240 euros because, as you say, they don’t have any more money apparently. It’s true that the Russian mafia came less this year so the business got impacted a lot. And the coke, gambling, prostitution businesses are at an all time low due too.
