Moscow where President Vladimir Putin
has displayed a selection of Western
battle tanks that were captured on the
front line in Ukraine among the vehicles
parked in the heart of the Capal is a
British Saxon armored personnel carrier
which is believed to have been given to
Ukraine in
2015 an American Bradley tank a Swedish
cv90 German Leopard two tanks and a
french-made armored Fighting Vehicle are
all on display and above them is a red
banner that says our Victory is
inevitable and all Moscow is displaying
equipment from 12 different countries
seized in Ukraine Russia is showcasing
these captured military vehicles with
country flags as a symbol of its
military prowess the display of captured
Western tanks is part of a month-long
exhibition in Moscow which will run
alongside the Red Square Victory Day
Parade on May 9th that marks Russia’s
victory over Nazi Germany and the second
world war president pu Putin also plans
to parade the armored vehicles to
glorify the invasion of Ukraine now he’s
historically used Victory Day to deliver
fiery speeches with an anti-west
rhetoric in fact last year he used the
Victory Day speech to slam what he CS
the Western Global Elites and said that
civilization was at a decisive turning
point he’s also positioned Russia’s
actions in Ukraine as part of a
historical battle against fascism now
Ukraine has called Russia’s display of
captured tanks and abuse of its shared
history to justify Putin’s aggression
but it’s not just Ukraine that has faced
losses in terms of heavy artillery and
battle tanks Russian Armory has also
suffered significant damage in fact over
3,000 Russian tanks have been damaged or
destroyed in over two years of war but
obviously that’s not on display and in
fact to make up for the shortfall now
the Russian army has been resupplying
the front line from its strategic
reserves of armor it’s also been
boosting defense spending putting its
economy on a war
