UK plans to ramp up weapons production for Ukraine and Western defence

in Britain’s latest show of support the foreign secretary is back in Ukraine ukra but Lord Cameron is also focused on the war effort at home he revealed a plan to appoint a new Envoy to expand UK weapons production after the Prime Minister put the defense industry on a Warf footing last week There’s a specific munition strategy of 10 billion pounds which will do exactly what you’re talking about the ramping up of production but crucially I think we can go further than that in terms of a specific defense enoy with the ability from the prime minister to go out and make sure we’re doing those multi-year deals with the defense suppliers because we need to not only provide more weapons to Ukraine we need to build up our own stock so this is very important it’s a national priority the prime minister is giving the lead and I think the industry will respond the shattered city of chivar is a reminder of the urgent need for Western allies to send more weapons to Ukraine it’s still under Ukrainian control for now but Russian forces are slowly advancing in the east as the defending troops run low on ammunition France’s president has even suggested Europe should consider sending troops to Ukraine should Russia achieve a breakthrough I think the one line we shouldn’t cross is I don’t think it’s right to have NATO soldiers killing Russian soldiers but I wouldn’t um have uh NATO soldiers sort of in country because I think that could be a dangerous escalation and it’s not necessary instead he says the best way to support keev is by rushing in Munitions and training recruits outside Ukraine what is the the risk to Europe if uh Vladimir Putin does prevail here I think you know we’re at an absolutely crucial Tipping Point uh in global Affairs the danger is that if Putin was successful here like all dictators that want to take parts of other countries he’d be back for more this is what happened in the 1930s and so you’d be very worried about mova you’d be very worried about the Baltic states so that’s why it’s so important but if we do as I think we will uh Prevail then it’s a it’s a very positive future but Russia still has a say and its defense industry really is on a war footing the battle of the uction line will be key in determining whatever happens next on the front line Deborah hayn Sky News Lviv

The UK will appoint a new envoy to oversee a plan to ramp up the production of weapons and ammunition, which is now a “national priority”, the foreign secretary has revealed.

Lord Cameron, speaking on a visit to Ukraine, also underlined the importance of supporting the Ukrainian war effort against Russia, warning that the world was at an “absolutely critical tipping point” and Kyiv must prevail or else Europe faced a “very dangerous future”.

  1. How about Cameron, put the money towards our Army, the UK’s Army. Because atm we hardly have one! And who’s next if Ukraine fails, the UK no doubt…

  2. Why haven’t the British people had a vote on whether we wish to support Ukraine as it’s taxpayers money which is funding Zelensky’‘s power trip

  3. Love how Cameron says “We will prevail”. Pity we’ve not helped Ukraine as much as we should have. Especially when it came to buying Russian energy which funded Putin’s disgusting war.

  4. After driving to work in London over pot holes the size of trenches.p I learnt a colleagues sister had been stabbed 11 times and and was told by 999 it would be quicker to get a cab to hospital and these rsoles are sending £Billions to Ukraine so more young Ukrainian lives can be tossed away in another Western sponsored futile War…Pure evil are these vile people.

  5. its weird. uk economy is a disaster. it has massive social problems. its military could not defeat a medium power. its broke. yet is acts like it is a global power and sends its peoples money to nato.
