Drone footage showed buildings submerged in flood water in the Brazilian city of Porto Alegre after heavy rains lashed southern Brazil.

The death toll caused by flooding in Brazil’s southern state of Rio Grande do Sul has risen to at least 78, local authorities said on Sunday, with more than 115,000 people displaced.

Floods have destroyed roads and bridges in several cities. The rains also triggered landslides and the partial collapse of a dam at a small hydroelectric power plant.

Flooding from storms in the past few days has affected more than two thirds of the nearly 500 cities in the state, which borders Uruguay and Argentina.

  29. It’s like South Brazil and few countries cities are all sinking. Scary to think everything is normal then sudden any costal or near river cities can disappear as fast as it comes.

  30. Lots of places BEING flooded lately ? Cloud seeding ? It fits the UNs 'climate scam', just like last years arsonist attacks did, especially near holiday destinations.
