‘Nothing ever works’: UK passengers delayed at airport passport control after e-gates fail
[Music] no what it is is a glitch you want eventually got some border Force officers to start manually processing all the passports which uh takes a lot longer than uh the egate so there were a lot of frustrated people understandably and no one was being given any information you could hear people saying this is typical of the the UK that nothing ever works
Thousands of passengers were delayed at airports across the UK on Tuesday evening after e-gate failures left them stranded at passport control.

The Home Office ruled out a cyber-attack, and got the gates back online. The outage affected Heathrow, Bristol, Gatwick, Manchester, Edinburgh and other airports

Is the UK turning into a complete joke or is this the Patrician Oligarchy wanting to discourage people from travelling? Either way it is hilarious when their government is sending billions to Ukraine and claims to be a major force on the world stage.
When I lost my job in 2009, after being in regular employment for some 20 years, I didn’t receive ANY benefits from the LABOUR government until some six weeks later at which point I had just found employment. Meanwhile Labour we’re lavishing benefits on career claimants, tax credits to supplement awful wages and sending child benefit abroad for kids not even born in this country. You’re right Guardian nothing ever works and it’s pretty much the same whoever is in charge. The supposed problem with my claim was my record of paying NI contributions. Which was total nonsense because I had been PAYE and fully employed to that point. This seems to be another story that the Guardian will seek to blame the Conservatives but anyone with even a reasonable memory remembers what a mess they were making when they were in. Particularly starting the immigration mess we find ourselves in now.
