the main UN Agency for Aid to Palestinians has closed its doors in East Jerusalem following an Arsen attack on its grounds unrra says chanting Israeli demonstrators Set Fire To The Compound on Thursday evening its Flames engulfing about 70 M of dry Bush some locals started that fire we have them on CCTV we then had a second fire uh two hours later very near our petrol station in the back of the compound uh petrol and Diesel and of course this would have been very dangerous if that had had exploded the whole Community because we have many residents here many neighbors since the start of the war on Gaza last October Israeli officials have repeatedly called for the agency to be shut down unra has long been a target of Israeli hostility Thursday’s attack following months of extremists staging protests outside the compound at times turning violent the targeting of the agency was condemned by the UN Secretary General and European officials the EU strongly condemns the attack against the unra premises in East Jerusalem perpetrators must be held to account it is Israel’s responsibility to ensure the safety of humanitarian workers unra is an Irreplaceable Lifeline to millions in Gaza and the region unra employs around 13,000 people and coordinates nearly all Aid to Gaza but the agency has been in crisis since January when Israel accused about a dozen of its employees of being involved in the October attack attack the accusation led to many donor Nations including the United States to suspend funding to the agency hampering its efforts to deliver Aid to The Enclave

  5. The problem is the artificial colonial settler state of Isreal having no regard to international law and human life. What Israel is doing is not self-defense, because it has no right to it as the occupier. Israel has proven to be an outlaw state. What is the international community going to do about that?

  9. The mayor of Jerusalem ought to be forced to answer why the authorities would endanger the city if the petrol station which the settlers set afire had caused an explosion. What damage has to occur before they quit coddling the ridiculous settler population? Its not political stupid. It is dangerous to everyone. Incompetent childish government there.

  11. I don’t blame UN much while they just passed the resolution to urge the Palestine membership. The one to blame is who gave the pressure to prevent UN’ humanitarian efforts.

  12. Israel was allowed into the UN if they adopted two resolutions: that East Jerusalem be an "international city" and that Palestinians be allowed to return to their homes (in what is now Israel). Israel has been in breech of this agreement since it became a UN member in 1949. This and the fact that they killed 150 UN workers in Gaza should make the General Assembly reconsider Israel's membership in the UN. This can be done under Article 6, Chapter 2 of the UN Charter.
