I was at Harry’s Invictus ceremony, he showed what he REALLY thinks of the royals

well let’s talk about that invictor ceremony a little bit I was there I was very lucky enough to I was quite high up in the seats I had to bring binoculars to see what was going on op glasses did you have the op glass I didn’t I had binoculars um because you’re quite a long the Press are quite a long way away from the actual ceremony and it was clear that no members of the Roy family would turn up as as we were talking about earlier but there were a lot of people there we had we had Marco with Mark D which which an old friend ofor figure in Harry’s life major figure in Harry’s life um some Jamie La pink his former Mentor was also there and he was surrounded by people who you know who like him um one of the most provocative possibly that might that’s my word provocative um guess would have been Earl Spencer which is Princess Diana’s brother yeah now he famously at Diana’s um funeral with with a very strongly worded speech that and addressed that they got a round of applause from people outside outside Westminster Abby talked about blood family and blood relatives and and and looking after William and Harry he doesn’t get on with King Charles but he was there with uh with Diana’s sister and some cousins to support Harry what do you what do you make of that in a kind of PR opportunity but also you know uh to show Family relations what do you make of that show of support from Diana’s family yeah it reignites the framing that existed in the 1990s which is basically so you mentioned Charles’s Charles Spencer’s speech at Diana’s funeral he said you know we and Diana’s blood family will raise these two boys up so they not caged by duty but can be free to become the well-rounded people you wanted them to be it was an incredibly powerful moment but it was also you know all the Royals were sat there including the queen listening to him say this and it was a very explicit attack on them um so yeah obviously there’s some bad blood in the history between the two charleses um but also you know the allegation against the monarchy back in those days after Princess Diana died was emotional indifference you know there was also this whole thing about whether they were going to come down from Bal moral whether they were going to see floral tributes it was all like you know the headline in the sun I think was where is our Queen uh you know where is her flag um so uh what Harry’s done here what Harry’s been able to do is you know the Spen has turned out to show him love and warmth and to show him respect for this project at his big moment it’s big thing to have your project recognized at St Paul’s Cathedral with our service of Thanksgiving with all these people in attendance Daman Lois reading a poem brilliant actor um and the cenes were there and Charles wasn’t and William wasn’t and it it’s back to that framing of the Royals are emotionally indifferent and the warmth come from comes from Diana’s side of the family um and so you know a lot this is the strange thing about Harry is that he has done some things that made people very angry with him throwing hand grenades at his family criticizing people spinning Royal secrets in this book but the better he behaves the more the criticism shifts off him and it risks passing on to the Royals so when he actually behaves himself and does things the way he’s supposed to do them doesn’t criticize people and doesn’t throw hand grenades certain underlying tensions bubble to the surface like often actually related to his milit military career and his War record it was the same thing with where whether he was going to wear his military uniform to support Queen Elizabeth II um in the runup to her funeral and the monarchy started taking some serious criticism over the fact that he wasn’t going to be allowed to and right back in those days he did it right he wasn’t criticizing anybody he played the game you know he turned up with William and Kate to do the job um and Windsor um and when he behaves himself that is when the monarchy is actually it’s most vulnerable um and that really is what has happened here is I think that um Charles and William maybe did not realize that the greatest threat to them is actually Harry behaving himself so we often look at this through you know a journalistic kind of media bubble through our lens and and work out you know who maybe has won the pr War here yeah but Charles Charles di was busy I understand why the king is utterly furious with Harry course all right I mean you know let’s get to the B you mentioned about hand grenades and insults and stuff like that the trashing of the family you know has has been Dreadful the pr that that Harry has has failed in the last couple of years and now you’re suggesting that he’s behaving himself you’re right both him and The Duchess of Sussex have kind of detoxified themselves they hav but there is there is a danger that you’re pointing out there that public sentiment could could shift but I I think there’s so much water under the bridge that I think many people still feel incredibly bitter um towards Harry towards Harry of course they do absolutely and they will for a long time it’ll be years before people forget um Harry and Megan you know disliked by around about two-thirds of Britain I think um and Harry used to be you know used to be liked by 80% of Britain and Megan as well she was she was liked by 55% of Britain right up until the moment they quit you know through that whole year in 2019 when they say that they were pillared by the British press um the British public actually loved her uh at the point that they announced their engagement which was November 2017 Megan was liked by 55% of Brits uh in November 2019 when they quit right before they quit last polling before they quit in the January of 2020 she was liked by 55% of Brits so they maintain their popularity through their whole royal career the point at which it started to go downhill was first when they quit then when they did Oprah and obviously spare also made people very angry with them um but one of the ways that the royal family weathered that storm and came out predominantly on top winning the pr war of those big kind of bombshell interviews was that they didn’t fight back and it’s very uh unseemly uh and uncomfortable for the P public to watch a person repeatedly attack his own family in a context where they aren’t fighting back but the one thing that um the mor Royal should be slightly cautious of is if Harry now looks like he’s the warm one and he’s playing ball and he wants peace the public predominantly overwhelmingly predominantly want to see peace reign you know they don’t want the war to continue and if it looks like Harry is a partner for peace but Charles is shunning him and snubbing him um there is a risk that the it flips and it looks like uh Harry is the one who’s not fighting back um and that is actually where the risk to them lies 100% 100% I get that but at some stage one of them somebody will have to there’s a big piece of Middle Ground here that no one’s venturing into which is an apology or and Harry and Megan have never ever kind of admitted any blame they’ve never actually said oh we made a mistake here we should have done this we are we are sorry I mean somebody has to step in but surely it should be Prince Harry or Megan that steps into that space rather than the the king in both personal terms and PR terms in fact I mean Harry was actually asked by Anderson Cooper um in 60 minutes he said you know what would you have done differently and Harry kind of stopped thought about it and said nothing yeah that was the opportunity that was the opportunity and also in his book I mean it’s it’s extraordinary he so they he hasn’t acknowledged a single error in the entire Megan era and then before the Megan era the only things he’s really acknowledged are all where he was on tape or or was pictured so there’s the Nazi uniform he’s acknowledged he was wrong there is using racially abusive language in relation to Ahmed razak Khan the Pakistani uh officer Cadet at Sandhurst he videoed himself doing it um and then kind of Las Vegas when he was photograph naked but also he did kind of blame it on the girls and he was like too much Army not enough Prince or something yeah and but he also said like you know I could tell those girls were dodgy and then I suggested we all get naked I mean it just didn’t really none of it made sense it was a very weird passage of his book but essentially the takehome appears to be that he won’t acknowledge that he’s done anything wrong unless it’s on camera um and he needs to get past that if he wants The public’s forgiveness um and he really should have been able to see that there are I mean I could tell him what to apologize for I could tell him if you want I mean I’m sure he doesn’t want me to but I I don’t have his number but I don’t well you know we’ll see what happens but yeah yeah we maybe get him on the show get him in here I’d love to get Harry on the show yeah yeah we should we should have but we had you booked this week so we couldn’t have Harry on this week

A GUEST at Prince Harry’s Invictus ceremony claims that noticeable absences revealed the royal family’s ‘emotional indifference.’

The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson described how he had attended a thanksgiving service in St Paul’s Cathedral to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games earlier this week.
