On board a helicopter rescuing Brazil’s flood victims. #Brazil #Flooding #BBCNews

we’re with the Emergency Services now in Porto allegri it’s been hit by the worst flooding in its history we joined the emergency services in a helicopter as they went to pick up an 89-year-old woman who had had a stroke to take her to hospital a lake near where she lived was flooded meaning ambulances wouldn’t have been able to get her out in time this is the main way to rescue people at the moment but it’s not without its risks the weather and rain is still bad the visibility is poor and Pilots are often picking people up from the roofs of houses in dangerous conditions the aim is to get people to safety many of whom have lost everything more than 6,000 people are living in one shelter in a University Sports Hall here people here are coming to terms with having lost everything they don’t know when they’ll be able to return home if they’ll have a home to go back to and some are fearful about going back to a place that they worry could flood again

  1. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away. Matthew 24:37-39
