‘The PM has been shot’: Slovakian parliament told of assassination attempt

Reports on the Slovakian TV channel TA3 said the country’s populist prime minister, Robert Fico, was shot in the stomach after four rounds were fired outside the House of Culture in the town of Handlová, about 100 miles (160km) north-east of the capital.

  1. I speak Polish not Slovakian, but I'm pretty sure you completely mistranslated what was said. Firstly, the address was not "ladies and gentlemen" but "congressmen and congresswomen". And secondly your translation of "this is your job" seems to lose the actual meaning of what was said, which was along the lines of "this is your doing" – implying (as far as I can tell) that the opposition (who he was presumably addressing) is responsible for the assassination attack

  2. Context? What did he mean? Pro-russian, contra-russian? which party stands for what? What is he suggesting? Are you a newspaper or what?

  3. and the opposition replies: Nope, it's your doing you "odkundes" (means basically a person that comes from abroad but people use it as a rough insult)

  4. Pro Russian Slovakian PM shot, Ukraine losing and Russia gaining ground continuously, Russian President in China.
    Seems that someone is getting really desperate.
