France: How tollbooth ambush unfolded, leaving two prison officers dead and others wounded

there is a limited FasTrack system operating here for those vehicles with some kind of automatic tag but even when you use that you still have to slow down and wait for the barrier to lift ahead of you now for some reason the prison van wasn’t using that system like most of the ordinary Vehicles traveling through this toll booth it stopped and waited for the barrier to lift only for a few seconds but at that point it became much more vulnerable to an ambush and the waiting hijackers knew that and took that moment to strike

How did the prison convoy attack in France unfold?

A convoy transporting prisoner Mohamed Amra from court to jail was ambushed at a motorway tollbooth near Rouen in Normandy by gunmen wearing balaclavas.
