France accuses Azerbaijan of interference in New Caledonia riots • FRANCE 24 English

France accused Azerbaijan on Thursday (May 16) of “interference” in the politics of its Pacific territory of New Caledonia, which has seen deadly riots in recent days.   Azerbaijan swiftly denied the charge by French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, which added to a growing number of tensions between France and the hydrocarbon-rich Caspian Sea state.

  26. The reason France doesn’t want to get rid of New Caledonia is they get MILLIONS AND MILLIONS AND MILLIONS of dollars from the nickel mines . Minimal is given back to the island and islanders. New Caledonia is one big giant nickel mine.!

  36. One of my relative is working at Azerbaijani intelligence service as I heard our secret service guys are supporting New Caledonian locals against France. There are Azerbaijani agents in Caledonia organizing locals for uprising. 🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿
