John Kirby: Russia has suffered at the hands of Ukraine

no no no you’re the savior of the [Applause] people incredible moment between Ukrainian president volodimir zalinski and an American World War II veteran on this dday earlier President Biden stood here in Normandy and told the world quote we will not walk away from Ukraine short time ago I spoke with John Kirby White House National Security Communications adviser about America’s future role in this war watch John thank you very much for joining me good to be with you it’s good to be with you we just listened to President Biden’s speech he spoke forcefully about defending democracy about turning back tyranny he said when we are asked and is it our turn uh we will say yes something to that effect um there will be people who look at the Ukraine decisions and say that that language is positive it sounds it sounds reassuring to them and to Europe but that uh that the advances in military weaponry have been too slow and that this latest accession to Fire Within Russia around kke is too limited to confining what do you say to that well I would remind uh people that we have evolved our support to Ukraine as the war is evolved the the needs of the ukrainians on the battlefield have changed and they are still changing and we are trying to stay a pace with that that’s why we’re in constant conversations with them I would also you know want to remind uh people that everything Ukraine is getting is in concert with them and meeting their needs their asks and we’re trying to again stay a pace of that um but I think it’s also the last thing I’ll say and then I promise I’ll and the answer is um take a look at what Russia has suffered and the president alluded to some of this in his speech more than 350,000 casualties million young people leaving the country because they don’t want to be there anymore an economy that’s basically a war economy and not doing that well uh Russia has suffered a lot at the hands of Ukraine and because they have invested so much of their energy and effort in into this war and not just the United States but 50 some OD Nations can take some credit for that because we helped arm and helped train and help resource the Ukrainian soldiers that are fighting so bravely so are you telling me that the president believes that Russia is on its heels just opened three new offensives in the north and east in Ukraine does the president believe that Russia is going to collapse on on its own oh no I would I wouldn’t go that far but I wouldn’t go that far right now but I do think it’s important to remember they haven’t made much progress for all the effort in the B hooing about what they were doing or trying to do at kke they’ve basically stalled out once they hit the first line of Ukrainian defenses that was kind of it and now they’re reassessing we think about what they might do next so um they still can be within range of kke I don’t want to diminish that that’s why we’re giv the ukrainians permission to strike across border at imminent threats but they have largely stalled out and Mr Putin has achieved none of his strategic objectives okay so we we know that Ukraine is suffering in in a number of places along that border right now when zalinski meets with President Biden uh tomorrow I believe they’re going to um and he says okay thanks for letting me go deeper into Russian ter around kke but I also really need to do it in abka or wherever else he feels he needs to do it how do you say no to what he’s asking for in those places and and why would you if he’s committed as he just said to peace which means no zero occupation from Russia inside of Ukraine well we haven’t had those conversations with the ukrainians and we’ll see where it goes tomorrow president’s looking forward to another chat with President zalinsky the immediate need right now was kke because the Russians were pushing in trying to establish a buffer zone on the Ukrainian side of the border so that they could hit kke because they want to get kke that’s what the need is right now uh we will as I said to my first uh answer to you we’ll keep in touch with the ukrainians nearly every day and and if we have to make adjustments we’ll make adjustments so the Wall Street Journal wrote a a piece about this and they said that this is a message to Putin just back up a little bit and we’ll leave you alone get get off that border area you back up a little bit we’re not going to allow Ukraine to use attack thems that go go deeper into your territory do you agree with that by the wall stre no I don’t at all I so will we let let them use the attacks to into russan teritory right now there’s no change in our policy about the use of aacs a longrange strike missile of 300 kilometers or so uh for use inside Russia and again I want to remind what we the guidance we’ve given the ukrainians is to go after things that are an imminent threat just over that border again will we have to talk to them about what that looks like going forward probably so but that’s the guidance they’ve been given right now I think it’s really important too to remember I mean you heard Putin talk about this just just yesterday in a press conference we’re dealing with a nuclear armed power and I think we can all agree especially people that love Ukraine and want to see Ukraine succeed that an escalation of this conflict to really become potentially World War III to become the US versus Russia which Putin already thinks it is um could be not only disastrous for the Ukrainian people but disastrous for people all across Europe you know so I I guess it’s a question we’re we’re sitting here at the Normandy American cemetery which of of course makes everyone think of of World War II um when Roosevelt allowed Len lease and we sent ships then we sent ammunition we didn’t put any constraints on them we didn’t say you can use the bullets in this place but not in that place you can use the ships this way but not that way we said Win do what it takes to win with our help so why don’t we have that same is the threat isn’t the threat Enough From Russia in a larger sense to make winning the goal well there are are parallel certainly to what’s going on on the continent of Europe now to what happened in the 1940s and World War II uh they are not exactly the same situation I mean this is a Russia invaded a peaceful Nation next door in a completely unprovoked and illegal way didn’t Hitler do the same thing and and we are aiding and we have been aiding Ukraine in terms of beating back that aggression and defending their Sovereign territory uh in their territorial Integrity uh and we’re going to keep doing that well let’s take the parallel a little bit further because um you know Hitler invaded the Sudan land he’s claimed it was the German speaking area that they wanted to be part of Germany um Putin has claim the same thing about Janes and Lans that the these are essentially Russia he says um Chamberlain in the Munich agreement I believe him I think that’s really all he wants I think I think after that he’s going to sit back um why shouldn’t we learn from history about what Putin’s designs are to go further if he believes that that President Biden will only give this here that there and not give them what they need no I I think the president talked about this quite clearly in his speech today and he’ll have more to say about this tomorrow at point2 HW we can’t we have to stand up to aggressors you can’t let them uh just change borders by force and we have done that and it’s not just the United States 50 some other other nations have helped Ukraine try to beat back this aggression and you’re right about donet and luhansk and Crimea that is Ukrainian soil and they have every right to claim that soil back it’s their country and and we want to make sure they have the tools to do that and the skills to do that and we’re going to continue to provide that that kind of support so so then President Biden agrees with the 1991 Ukraine territory of course so the United States plans to back them with whatever they need to achieve that goal in what kind of time frame we have been doing that for the last two plus years giving them what they need as the war has changed our support has changed how long is that going to go on geez Martha I don’t know anybody can know that that the answer to that as you know there’s a peace Summit coming up in Switzerland here in a couple of weeks the vice president will be representing the United States we have represented to that John we have represented we’ve been represented at every single peace Summit um the president believes that we’re doing it again here with some serious representation by the Vice President by theal going to be at a fundraiser in California during that president has other things on his schedule but nobody can say looking at what we’ve done for Ukraine uh in the last couple of years that that President Biden isn’t standing absolutely shoulder-to-shoulder with ukrainians as they continue to fight for their freedom one more question I I’ve spoken to a number of World War II veterans here and um I I’ve asked them if they see parallels in what’s going on in the world and a number of them said yes they said you know I I grew up in that era I served in that era and I watched what happened when Hitler took pieces and then there were negotiations well you can have this part but you can’t have that part does President Biden believe that we’re in a moment where Russia and China in in coordination with North Korea and Iran want to be that kind of bullwark that we in that kind of perilous moment as we were in 1938 39 I don’t think you can go so far as to say there’s some sort of axis Alliance akin to What U what Hitler put together in the 1940s but you don’t think there is between those they have burgeoning relationships obviously Russia’s reg doesn’t have a lot of friends so he’s reaching out to China for support he’s reaching out to North Korea for missiles and that kind of thing he’s certainly getting drones from Iran but have they formed some sort of Alliance where they’ll come to each other’s Aid and assistance no we haven’t seen that and these are not four countries that necessarily trust each other anyway and they don’t have a long World War II either they don’t have a long history working well together look at Russia look at Italy they were sort of partners because they had a similar goal they found because they were great friends they found a common cause and they were willing to come to each other’s Aid we countes all want to see end of the United States as the dominant power in the in the world we believe certainly in the case of Russia and China they are challenging this rule B rules based order that these veterans gave as a gift to the world they are certainly challenging that world that rules-based order and that’s what the president was talking about today we’ve got to stand up and defend that order otherwise we won’t be worthy of their sacrifice and he doesn’t want that to be the case the the speech at pointto Hawk will he point at China and Russia and this combination of countries and the aggression that you speak of well the president hopes to do a point to Hawk is really uh Herald The Bravery and the sacrifice of the Rangers who scaled those unbelievably sheer clips and I think he wants to focus tomorrow’s remarks really more on them and remembering them and being worthy of their sacrifice that’s what that tomorrow speech is all about John kby thank you it’s great to see you in person and always good to have uh sit down and talk with you it’s great to be here with you especially on this on this special anniversary at this 1. Listen to these lies. Russian economy jumped 2 spots over Germany and Japan.
Ukraine lost 20 million people since 2014.
Ukraine literally kidnapping men ofc the street and 3 days later these guys are on the front lines.

  2. Thy are our enemy’s . Do you knw how many kids puttin killed?. Americans Open your eyes before it’s too late. Fox and trump republicans work for Russia.

  3. America has built biolabs, cia bases, army bases, navy bases in Ukraine but in Kirbi's mind, that was a peaceful neighbor. And i dare mention US overthrown government there in 2014

  4. How insulting for Kirby to stand there and suggest that these WW2 veterans fought and died for his authoritarian "rules based world order". No, Kirby, that is what they fought AGAINST.

  5. First Biden gave Putin the green light to invade by telling the whole world including Putin how scared he was of WW3 and promising Putin the US would not respond.

Then Biden offered Zelenskyj passage out of Ukraine for which Zelenskyj famously replied “I don’t need a ride I need ammo”.

Then Biden tried to convince Pelosi not to sanction Russia very harsh.

Then Biden prevented allies from delivering US bought weapons vital to Ukraines defense and even F16 from European NATO allies.

Democrats in the Senate and the Congress have been on the right side Ukraine and history and It is true that the US has given Ukraine something, but very little measured to the size of US compared to most other countries, but to claim that Biden has given Ukraine what it needs is simply factually not true. It’s actually an absurd lie.

The Biden administration has done everything it can politically to stall and prevent Ukraine from getting what it needs and subsequently make optimal military use of what it received.

Its own party – The Democrats – and the mainstream media supporting Biden wants Ukraine to win. What the Biden administration wants is a big mystery.

Luckily for Biden a few Republicans managed to block Ukraine aid, thus the optics now looks like Biden is the saviour of Ukraine while Republicans are now the Russians assets Trump was falsely accused of being during his presidency. Great Irony.

  6. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🐷🐷🐷🐷🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓🐓

  7. И это США 😂😂😂, то что нам хвалили? 😂😂😂 Страна, где клоуны пришли к власти и врут собственному населени, страна наркоманов и убийц 😂😂😂

  8. Kirby knows that this is the wrong policy I don't blame him at all this is coming right from the top. It is a terrible strategy that means that we are constantly playing ketchup instead of innovating and taking the fight to the Russians to dictate how the war will be fought. You just can't win a war like that.

  9. Nope that's not the Russia suffering its us The People of USA.
Everything you doing is backward with this current administration.

  10. You don't win a war by allowing the enemy to marshal resources just outside your border and repeatedly attack. Biden's half assed restrictions allow Russia to do this and all Biden's talk about standing up to aggressors is a smoke screen for his effort to not win in Ukraine.

  11. WTH does Kirby think anyone is listening to this BS? It is OVER for Ukraine the entire world sees that . Kirby is trash

  12. Russia is not losing the war. Ukraine cannot defeat Russia. You have not heard of Russia using it's air force. If Russia wanted to they could gain air superiority and this would look like US v Iraq. Russia is not using the full force of it's military. So all you war hawks are just full of it.

  13. If we talking suffering.. Hehehe it's Yankees.. Hehehe orcs have huge reserves (partly frozen but they're accustomed to freezing) Yankees over 35 trillion in debt & sending around 100 bln to losing side.. Hehehe just saying.. Amazing..

  14. CORRECTION: Russia has suffered at the hands of the United States. Mostly the left started this war going back to the 1990's as Russia wanted to be part of the rest of the world and wanted peace, but the war mongers of our government refused to let them. They pushed and pushed and pushed Russia to the edge by trying to get every surrounding country of Russia into NATO. The Ukraine war is about regime change by the war mongers of the Biden admin. Russia wanted peace right after the invasion started, but Biden and his brown shirts told Zolinski no. 100's of 1000's of people have died and millions displaced thanks to the Biden Administration.

  15. That's why Ukrainian losses are over 500,000. While russian losses are 5x lower. Also the Russian economy is booming while Ukraine pretty much has none.
