Israel under increased pressure after war cabinet minister Gantz resigns • FRANCE 24 English

Benny gance is a leader of one of the opposition parties in Israel he joined this government uh days after the Hamas attacks of October the 7th he said he was answering a national call it wasn’t a political call he described this he said he was joining despite the fact that it was a bad government because it was a bad government and he thought he could contribute so now he’s getting to the stage where he realizes he can no longer contribute and that’s been the the primary motivation his most his largest concern is the fact that uh other motivations personal and political are creeping in to important military and security decisions so that’s a big accusation against Benjamin Netanyahu and you know he’s a popular leader uh here here in Israel and internationally very popular in Washington they regard him as a moderate they can do business with uh but he has decided to leave he said it was harder to to it was easier to join than it is to leave he knew when the right time to join was he thinks this is the right time to go uh and he says that that is I I guess what he’s really saying is that he doesn’t want to be Benjamin netanyahu’s figli or his enabler anymore given the fact that the decisions the control is really in the hands of the right-wing members of this government uh he has called for early elections it’s not clear though that his departure will see those elections happen he says He suggests it should happen in the Autumn a year after the uh Hamas attacks uh but you know Benjamin nanah who can rule with the majority that he has now and will continue to do so

  1. December 2023 The new Netanyahu government will act in accordance with the following guidelines: "The Jewish people have an exclusive and inalienable right to all parts of the Land of Israel. The government will promote and develop the settlement of all parts of the Land of Israel "
    this is also the moment when Hamas started preparing the attack, one year before oct 7.
