‘I feel no hatred’: Slovakian PM speaks for the first time since assassination attempt

The Slovakian prime minister, Robert Fico, has made his first public comments since he was shot, saying that with a ‘small miracle’ he could return to work within weeks.

In a pre-recorded video posted on Facebook before the European parliament elections, Fico said there was no reason to believe the attack on him on 15 May was the act of a ‘lone lunatic’ and he called the attacker an activist of the Slovak opposition. Fico has been recovering from multiple wounds after being shot in the abdomen as he greeted supporters in the town of Handlová. A suspect was arrested. Fico has said he felt ‘no hatred’ towards his attacker and that he forgives him

  16. I wasn’t a big fan of his work previously as a Hungarian, but since he turned against the globalists I changed my mind. I’m glad he’s returning and hope he continues what he started. Wishing him a quick recovery!

  21. that is the part about democracy, you know, the values of EU.
    The rest of the speech is a very courageous denounciation of the hypocrisy and violent attacks by the "ruling" machine in Bruxelles, and of the support for the war and Ukraine.
    A statesman in a small country injured and insulted by the dictature in Bruxelkes.

  36. this is really telling. Opposition reaction to the shooting : cease-fire (no negative comments) and wishing for recovery to the PM, Coalition reaction : This is the work of the hateful opposition, hate hate hate… I am so sick of this hypocrite
