  1. My heart sank the day Argos switched from pens to pencils. Just wasn’t the same.

  2. This just unlocked a core memory for me, loved those things.

  3. “Please be in stock, please be in stock… 1 left!” *furiously scribbles down number and runs to till*

  4. I got a wave of nostalgia looking at it but I don’t remember ever seeing it lmao

  5. Ahh, the memories of typing random numbers and the little thrill when you got one correct…….everybody did that, right? Right?

  6. Even worse was catalogue launch day! Changing ALL those out on the desks were a massive pain in the ass!!

  7. Strutting up with my wee roll of coins, rolling over that great bible to the toys section.

There’s an RC plane I’ve had my eye on for months.

    Now the anticipation

Is it in, or is it out?

Smash in that SKU, proper button-breaking hits

    SEARCHING… WAITING…

    IS IT? IS IT?

    YES YES

    1 Left

Hot damn, I’m just in time.

I look around, and I notice

THERE’S A GRANNY THAT LOOKS LIKE SHE WANTS WHAT I WANT

    FUCKING HURRY

Storming up to the counter I thrust that slip of paper in the cashier’s face.

“Yeah just go on over to collection point A, luvvie.”

I see it coming, my plane my plane.

I SNATCH that shit, and my wee smug face all lit up with glee.

Fuck you, gran gran, I own the skies.

  8. I accidentally put the wrong number in on my birthday and ended up with Super Mario Sunshine instead of Windwaker

  9. you know you had a good day out in town if you saw this and the Woolworth’s pick and mix islands both in one day

  10. This was always my favorite thing about Argos.

Half the time I couldn’t even afford the things, I just wanted to type the numbers in and see if they were in stock.

  11. I remember before these, when you just had to write down your code and hope they had it when you got to the till
