Swiatek wins third consecutive French Open women’s title after beating Paolini • FRANCE 24 English

well you go shant has done what she’s been doing throughout these last two weeks which is barely leaving any space at all for her opponents once again today leaving just 6261 absolutely dominant the poll and deservedly wins a third Grand Slam here at the French Open in a row that’s only matched by Justin Ina and Monica CES before so the third she’s the third woman to have achieved just this uh but look uh it was it was predicted from the start almost that she was going to be able to come here today with that facility it wasn’t easy for obviously in that second round match against naom oaka but today clearly she brushed aside yesica palini even though at the start of the game uh the Italian seemed to definitely have some space in that breaking her serve but after that there was a feeling that shant was going to come back with a vengeance for that and she did and up until that until the end of the game that’s exactly what happened she got her opponent to run from one side to the court to the other outp powering her every time with her backand just as she she’s been doing um every single time palini though putting in a good fight uh in this and definitely some long rallies in there but in the end she managed to make the most of of the weaknesses that she found up on her opponent uh today and manages then to lift her third but fourth in total but third consecutive trophy here at horns her fourth at the French Open uh and shant’s totally deserving that once more still though if we do look at on the bright side for Palin it’s a good a good time as well for uh the Italians in 10 she Rises up to world number seven despite the defeat and meanwhile of course on the on the men’s side we’ve got Yanik who while he may not be in the final for the men’s tomorrow while he’s taking that world’s number one spot so Italian tennis is in good hands but for now on the women’s side is completely dominated by the pole by euson

Iga Swiatek won her third consecutive French Open championship and fourth in five years by defeating Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1 in the final on Saturday. The 23-year-old from Poland is the first woman with three trophies in a row in Paris since Justine Henin from 2005 to 2007. FRANCE 24’s James Vasina reports.
