Biden administration invests $700M in Colorado River conservation for lower basin states

1. > The funding from the Inflation Reduction Act will fund projects, such as water distribution structures, advanced metering infrastructure, farm efficiency improvements, canal lining, turf removal, groundwater banking, desalination, recycling water and water purification.

   By the sounds of it, this is mainly about necessary infrastructure upkeep and improvement. Ensuring potable water quality and preventing leaks and losses. 

   I am curious how much discussion or action would go into watershed improvements. For instance, if we can retain water in wetlands and plant life throughout the upstream tributaries, we’ll have more available water for Lake Powell (trickle-down hydronomics). Re-hydrating the landscape helps everyone, wildlife included.
