I’m from Yorkshire in England and last time I was in America I got asked if I knew some guy called Brian from Birmingham
“Ah so like…where is that to London?”
Also Londoners:
I live in Lancashire and I have never been to London😂I’ve been to Heathrow but never left the airport. Is that a thing?
I’m in Abroad at the moment and one of the locals, on learning that I’m British, asked if I’m from Stoke on Trent. That was a new one on me!
I’m from Yorkshire, being black with the most broad Yorkshire accent ever I constantly get asked “where abouts in Africa are you from” or “yeah I get that you’re born in England but are you originally from Jamaica”
If I had a pound for every time someone asked me!
To be fair, if you’ve only been to one place in a country and that’s your point of reference then I understand that people might do this. Annoying as fuck though
