7 months ago when their previous Alliance known as The Nest imploded it looked like France’s left-leaning parties would never be able to agree but now the Socialists the greens France unbowed and the French communist parties will now be referred to as the popular front in a joint statement the group declared a new page in history of France has been written but some more negotiations may be in the cards while France on bow has the largest number of outgoing MPS the balance of power has shifted after the Socialist Party made significant gains in last Sunday’s European elections on Wednesday left leing parties announced the distribution of constituencies France andbad will have 229 candidates the Socialist Party 175 the greens 92 and finally the French Communist party with 50 the question now is who will run for each seat The Next Step will be ironing out the policy agreements and deciding on who is the leader FR rufan of France has raised his hand I feel capable and if there is a consensus to reach a name I’m ready to take the role to transform people’s lives so has his partymate and former presidential candidate Jean luk melona but melona is considered a divisive figure and would be a controversial choice if they can iron out their differences and the alliance holds the popular front could become a contender to form a majority in the new French Parliament

Political parties representing the French left-wing said they had reached an agreement to form a ‘Popular Front’ to contest the snap parliamentary election which will be held over the coming month. “A new page in the history of France has been written with this new Popular Front!” said a joint statement issued on behalf of the parties.

  1. Macron and his team must be exhausted because of election and political infighting. No mind left for EU strategic independence, or technological development (AI, Space exploration, EV…). You feel the implications.

  2. Hope the French people stand up against this.. these are the Politicians who are responsible for the way France has become in recent years. Its time for them to go.

  3. Clearly the two-party system in the USA does not work, as Americans now have a choice between Conservative and More Conservative, but there must be a balance between diverse representation and enabling a clear majority for practical governance. Too many parties means too diffused voting. Where is the happy medium I wonder? Here in Canada we have three major parties, and even then a party can form a majority government with 40% of the popular vote, and often does.
