How To Get Your Hands On First King Charles Banknotes

How To Get Your Hands On First King Charles Banknotes

The first bank notes featuring King Charles’ portrait were released on Wednesday almost two years after he succeeded the late Queen Elizabeth.

His Majesty’s portrait will appear on the new £5, £10, £20 and £50 bills while existing notes featuring his mother will continue to circulate.

King Charles is the second monarch to appear on these notes, after Queen Elizabeth II who was first featured in 1960.

The new notes will be released gradually to replace worn-out currency…or to meet any increase in demand.

“This approach is in line with guidance from the Royal Household, to minimise the environmental and financial impact of this change,” the Bank of England said.

“This is a historic moment, as it’s the first time we’ve changed the sovereign on our notes.”

  2. Now, that is a portrait worthy of the King.
I think the bank notes are very well done, and it's time they were introduced.
    God Save the King!

  3. 🙋🏾‍♀ "How To Get Your Hands On First King Charles Banknotes" You're going to hold a raffle. You're going to charge people to enter it and then you're never going to tell us who won just like the plate and the trip to London. Although I am aware that holding a raffle for money is not feasible I'm simply making a point.

  5. They look very good. Too bad they are practically worthless. One pound today is not even worth ONE PENNY 100, even 90 years ago. Winston Churchill bought a new Rolls Royce in the 1930s for 2,000 pounds. Even 100 times that would NOT get you the cheapest Rolls today.

  6. The British pound has been descending in value for almost a century, so much that it is almost equal to the value of one lousy Euro. And for the Euro, banknotes exist not only up to 50 or 100, but we also have the 200 and the 500 bank note. So if the UK is to continue using paper money, maybe it should think of making the 5 a coin and issuing at least a 100 pound note, if not 200 and 500 as well. After all, aren't the Irresponsible Labourites about to form a Government?

  8. Yesterday I watched a comedy sketch by Tracey Ullman posing as Q Camilla shopping, obviously filmed when QEII was still alive. She went into a clothes store and chose a few items, went to the cashier to pay with cash, and asked "How many Mother-in-Laws will this set me back"? I guess with the Charles III notes, she should ask "How many Chubby Hubbys" she has to cough up.
