Benjamin Netanyahu has dissolved his six member War cabinet now it was a widely expected move that came after the departure from government of the Centrist former General Benny Gans just over a week ago Netanyahu had faced demands from the Nationalist religious Partners in his coalition to be included in that war cabinet a move which would have intensified strains though with International Partners including the United States well let’s cross then to Jerusalem speak to correspondent Jordana Miller Jordana is said it’s not unexpected but um bring us the latest and explain to us a little bit about the reasons behind this right no matter how uh Israel’s prime minister Benjamin natano will spin this uh it is an effort to sideline those far-right ministers that is the national security minister itamar benir uh and the Finance Minister betel smotrich benir had insisted that unless he had a seat in the war cabinet he would resign and that of course would bring down nany’s government so netan who is very politically Savvy decided Well we don’t need a war cabinet right he just avoided that fight and he’s going to go back to making decisions the way he used to before this war that is he would consult his closest advisers like Ron durmer and Sakia negbi and some of the uh military leaders in this case it’ll be defense minister Galant and even the head of the most uh that smaller Forum will make decisions uh and then Natan will take it to the larger security cabinet that will include these farri ministers and it will essentially give him more control over the decision-making and more control over the messaging uh for this war now that the centrists uh in the war cabinet General Benny Gant and general Eisen Cott have left uh so this is seen uh as a move that will sideline the far right and uh and essentially will be met with size of relief I think in Washington could it not backfire on Netanyahu though I mean how could those nationalist members who are being sidelined if what you’re saying is the situation react well we are surely going to see them react uh you know and criticize the decision and come out against it um but remember these far-right ministers they’re in power they don’t have many places to go uh so you know they’re going to scream and yell but at the end of the day they’re not going to bring down this government uh they’re in the wider security security cabinet uh they do have some power uh and they’re going to preserve that uh through this uh War uh so I think you know anything they say will be for their base will be for possibly the next election cycle but they’re not going to talk if you will with their feet and leave this government Jord thanks very much Jord Miller correspondent talking to us live there from Jerusalem thank

Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has dissolved the six-member war cabinet, an Israeli official said on Monday, in a widely expected move that came after the departure from government of the centrist former general Benny Gantz. Netanyahu is now expected to hold consultations about the Gaza war with a small group of ministers, including Defence Minister Yoav Gallant and Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer. Netanyahu had faced demands from the nationalist-religious partners in his coalition, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, to be included in the war cabinet, a move which would have intensified strains with international partners.
