The reason for this attacked, it's shows US is desperate after months of supplying weapons, and nothing is changed in Ukraine.

Putin is a very frightened, pathetic little man who will say absolutely anything to try and stop the pounding he is getting. Russians are losing patience with him, and he knows it. With all he can handle in Ukraine "escalation" is a very desperate bluff, as there's no way he could handle it, and his generals probably wouldn't accept it.
