12. Low quality video. At no point was it explained why NVIDIA's stock rose and the video went from explaining GPUs (the acronym) immediately to "AI chips". What should have been said is NVIDIA figured out that building a processor with access to a lot of arithmetic operators would be really good for a large class of problems. This is where NVIDIA's software stack, CUDA (Compute Use Direct Access), fits into the picture to programmatically control these arithmetic operators. Local isolated RAM (typically called VRAM since it traditionally holds copies of frames of a video over time) also dramatically speeds up how these processors can be used to efficiently run lots of arithmetic operations. It makes them really good for problems dealing with matrices and linear algebra.
