What’s the self service car wash strategy here?

I live for 3 years here and I always face the same issue when washing my car, hope a good soul can guide me here.
I sometimes take my the car through the auto wash, it does a decent job but some parts of the car never get any cleaning, because of that the choice of the self service always seem like the best option for me.
Now comes the drama: it's warm now, I take one round of water and later one round of foam, then I have to brush the whole car, and when I finish one side the other side already dried up the foam. I try to take a bucket with me to have more foam available but in any case everything will dry entirely, when I finish it and I wash it all away I see several water stains in the car, and just to do that questionable cleaning I spent at least 7-8€.
What am I missing here? Is there a better strategy which I'm not aware of? Maybe I can stop the jet and I didn't realise so I could water + foam + clean one side fully? But how much would that end being!? I'm just sick of stains after cleaning it and I really hope this question doesn't sound as stupid as I believe it is (:

  1. **Have you read our extensive wiki yet? It answers many basic questions, and it contains in-depth articles on many frequently discussed topics.

  2. Do you brush with the foam brush turned on, or brush after spraying the foam(Powerschaum)? The latter is for the “pre-wash”, it is not really intended for the main wash.

What I would do, if you don’t want to buy anything extra:
    1. Spray foam all over the car with Powerschaum selected, then wait for a while until the foam washes away big chunks of dirt.
    2. Select power wash(only water) and wash all the foam away.
    3. Select foam brush, brush every panel and windows.
    4. Select Klarspülen and wash everything away.

It shouldn’t cost more than 6 Euros if you are quick enough.

Edit: If your local place allows bringing your own cleaning supplies(usually on off-peak hours), check out ChrisFix’s car wash guide on Youtube – it is the best beginners guide imo, and you can avoid creating nasty swirl marks on the paint by using the brush…

  3. If you want be a cheapskate like me:
    1. Power foam your whole car. Pay just for one minute and be really quick and spray your whole car.
    2. Let it soak for a few mins.
    3. Pay another 2 mins to wash it off.

This is generally enough. If your car takes dirt stains easily, get it detailed for about 200 euro. The wax should last a year and your car should be easy to wash.

Don’t use the brush at the car wash, you will create micro scratches in the paint.
