Question

The videos I’ve seen of wounded with a green substance on the wounds, what is causing that? I’ve always thought it an iodine or iodine parallel it I am pretty sure it’s not gangrene. Anyone know?

  1. Maybe methylene blue? It might be used as a dye to help with debridment or seems that it might also be used for methicillin resistant bacteria. Soo maybe for wound care.

  2. Zelyonka. Its a tincture similar to iodine. Used very widely in the eastern Europe. From scratches, to bug bites to apparently shrapnel wounds.

  3. Usually what I’ve seen utilized pre surgery is betadine or Iodine. However those are red in colour.

  4. Look at GP Hoof, they use the same on animals, to stop infection etc.
