Pentagon Pressed On Ukraine Frontline, Praises Ukrainian Troops For ‘Good Job’ In Holding The Line

uh general just real quick you said that they talked about the Dynamics on the ground in Ukraine have the Dynamics changed what did the uh ministers tell the uh secretary about the about the situation there again Jim uh you know we’ll get you a fuller readout here but um you know what what we continue to see on the ground is uh it remains a tough fight Russia continues to uh attempt to to take ground uh but the ukrainians have done a good job of holding the line uh again for context uh in the seven months uh that we were working to get additional security assistance and and supplemental funding uh for Ukraine the the Russians uh made an effort to try to to push uh and take uh Ukrainian territory and and really did not accomplish that much in terms of the the amount of geography that they were able to take so what we see now is the ukrainians uh in large part uh empowered by the security assistance that’s being rushed in to include ammunition are now you know continuing to hold the line uh we’ll continue to support them in their efforts to defend themselves they talk about counter uh offensives uh again we’ll we’ll get you a read out but I’m not going to get into talking about potential future operations or you know refer you the ukrainians talk about their operations sir
