Who in the world are they going to war with? The fish?
After reading: Yup. Nailed.
They’re SO close to make communism work🤞…

A small country that has had to reach out for help for most of it’s post-colonial history but maintained an enviable culture and music, while having nearly four times as many doctors per capita as the US, which has the highest health care cost in the world. Give those fucking people a break, they aren’t going to war with anyone but death by starvation.
Dang communist should make em the 52 state after Rico show them the bliss of democracy and capitalism
I mean it’s pretty optimal for them – it’s only 20% consumer goods factories! They are communist so it’s meta
>Exports: The top exports of Cuba are Rolled Tobacco ($275M), Nickel Mattes ($163M), Zinc Ore ($127M), Hard Liquor ($102M), and Raw Sugar ($67.2M), exporting mostly to China ($426M), Spain ($139M), Germany ($58.5M), Portugal ($43.3M), and Switzerland ($41.4M).
>Imports: The top imports of Cuba are Poultry Meat ($365M), Concentrated Milk ($115M), Soybean Oil ($108M), Corn ($105M), and Wheat ($102M), importing mostly from Spain ($812M), China ($404M), United States ($341M), Brazil ($290M), and Netherlands ($225M).
They just need to hawk tuah their way to prosperity
They should volunteer to fight in Ukraine and send back their paychecks from Putin
Time to blame American embargos.
Communism has aged well for them
Late stage communism. Sad the people of Cuba have to deal with this bullshit they should be a thriving country like Bermuda.
If you are a command economy already, how can you tell? I guess it is just lingo for “we are changing the numbers significantly”.
That’s an odd thing to say… “War Time Economy” huh
Ahh. U.S. sanctions are working as scheduled, maybe a little bit too well, considering. Just continue making life unbearable and uncomfortable enough to trigger regime change/elections so that the old money families of the United Stares can recoup their losses from 1957…o_O
“At a recent meeting of the Council of Ministers, Mildrey Granadillo de la Torre, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning, said that the measures seek to adjust the 2024 Plan and Budget to the conditions of a “war-time economy,” a term that is often used in extreme situations, and which the authorities now apply to a country that ended 2023 with an inflation of 30%, an economy contracted by 2% and a depreciation of the Cuban currency of more than 50% against the dollar and the euro in the informal market.”
Bullish
I mean if I were Cuba I would never have not been in a war time economy… Cuban Crocodiles are the only species of crocadillian that actively hunt humans.
A lovely island full of lovely people who do not deserve to suffer
Last I checked Cuba isn’t at war with anybody lol
No surprised, I recently made a trip to Cuba and it’s nothing like what it was before
I DECLARE WARTIME ECONOMYYYYYYY
For those too lazy to read: the American sanctions have brought on new measures to deal with them equivalent to a country in a war time economy.
