French legislative elections: Voter turnout at 25.9% at midday • FRANCE 24 English

at 25.9% uh at midday in only four hours of voting that is drastically High that’s six points up from the same point in 2022 uh at this polling station I’m outside of in the first constituency of Paris 40% of registered voters have already cast their votes so this is extremely high and as you made reference to 1997 what is interesting is these high turnout elections align with these moments in French history where uh early snap elections have been called interrupting the usual political calendar whereby you have presidential elections and then legislative elections two months later um and this time we are in the middle of a parliamentary term in the middle of a presidential term and it’s all been interrupted with extremely high stakes uh so uh extremely high turnup that’s galvanized voters um and obviously we’ll have to wait and see but of course High turnout can affect uh the results

Midday turnout in France’s first round of voting Sunday in the 2024 general elections stood at 25.9 percent, 6 points higher compared to the same time in the 2022 elections, FRANCE 24’s Antonia Kerrigan said, reporting from Paris.

  1. French living abroad. I received an email on the 25th of June that informed me that the vote started on the 25th of June and closed on the 27th. I checked my emails on the 28th.
Is it too much to inform the people IN ADVANCE?!!!
