  1. This only makes sense if it makes capturing CO2 from the air viable. And then, only if the resulting CO2 is also captured with any excess CO2 being rendered to something like a carbonate that won’t breakdown back into CO2. Also, methane leaks are a thing and not good. Methanol might make more sense as it is more easily handled.

  2. E-methanol or E-ammonia probably make more sense because they are easier to store and transport

  3. IIRC, methanol is a shit fuel for almost all applications. Maybe someone here knows of a use?

    Ammonia, on the other hand, is pretty handy for fertilizer.

  4. Synthetic fuels will start to get big sometime in the next ten years, probably at the tail end of that. 

    But we will have a big need for synthetic fuels.
