Princess of Wales makes first public appearance since cancer diagnosis | Trooping the Colour

The Princess of Wales watched the Trooping the Colour from the Buckingham Palace balcony with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The Princess travelled to the ceremony in the Glass State Coach with her children, appearing in public for the first time this year, as she begins her return to public life after her cancer diagnosis.

The King and Queen also travelled by carriage to the ceremony, riding in the Scottish State Coach while the Prince of Wales rode on horseback to the event.

The Princess, who is still undergoing chemotherapy, will later make an official appearance on the balcony alongside the King and the other members of the Royal Family.

  11. Catherine radiates warmth, she is a shining star in the RF, even in sickness she turns up to do her duty and support her father in law, her husband and her regiment. It was a great event showcasing our United Kingdom with the regiments from all parts. It is wonderful to see and hear the soldiers telling their stories, one a Irish Guard who was following his brother's footsteps who sadly is no longer. The lady Colonel of one of the air force fleet, all brilliant, even down to seeing the horses having their shoes put on and then the Kings Troop made up of many women taking the 41 gun salute. I used to go to Trooping the Colour overseas, with my father taking the salute on behalf of the late Queen, it was exceptional and I feel lucky to have seen and been a part of this. For the anti monarchists, good luck dears, name one country that has such a unifying institution!

The transformation of Eliza Dolittle, has a deep resonance in the UK, and it is possible that those tasked with the 're-introduction' outfit for The Princess yesterday, may have been referencing that story [with this echo of Cecil Beatons famous 'Ascot Gavotte' outfit] , after so long a period 'out of public view [just as Eliza had, in 'My Fair Lady' ?]

  34. Catherine and Charlie boy clearly never had cancer. Nothing more than a publicity stunt. Let's not forget before they went under with their diagnosis, they were both accused of racism.
