California’s brutal heat to continue as more wildfires break out

  1. Hot and dry weather pulls all the moisture out of the plants and the soil. 

    You can walk, bike, or drive around and see drought stressed trees.  I’m California, also in rainy Oregon and Washington which aren’t as rainy as they used to be. 

    All of these dried plants are ready to burn.  In the spring and late fall the trees have water in them, the leaves are moist, they can still burn but it’s not like a spark hitting gasoline.

    We still get rain in the northwest, plenty of it will winter.  The drought is ‘only’ seasonal, but it’s enough for the red destroyer to take hold.
