  1. Well, they have already promised austerity (that’s what their fiscal rules dictate regardless of what their rhetoric says). So probably not.

    That said, they won the election with 33.8% of the vote share, so a lot of MPs know they are on thin ice. Maybe they will actually feel some pressure to improve on Tory policy.

    Honestly, what a ridiculous voting system that the same vote share (literally within 1.4%) can deliver 220 seats in the last election (2019) and be described as a catastrophe, and then deliver 410 seats in the next election and be described as a landslide victory…
