  1. Yerko’s detailed, mesmerizing drawings, especially for the children’s book publishing house “A-ba-ba-ha-la-ma-ha,” captivate both children and adults. Witnessing his current acclaim, it’s hard to believe that in the 90s, he was repeatedly turned down for jobs and advised to simplify his style to sell his paintings.

Yerko is best known for his illustrations of “The Snow Queen,” which topped Christmas sales in the UK and won numerous awards domestically and internationally. Paulo Coelho praised it as “the most amazing children’s book” he had ever seen, and Yerko personally presented it to Coelho in 2002. Yerko also illustrated several of Coelho’s books.

Yerko’s portfolio includes works by William Shakespeare, Hans Christian Andersen, Hermann Hesse, Umberto Eco, Carlos Castaneda, Richard Bach, and many others. His illustrations bring these authors’ worlds to an exceptionally unique level.

Yerko once said that he believes in wonders, as they always happen to him. May his life continue to be filled with wonder for as long as possible.

  2. So cool and wonderfully and intricately detailed. It reminds me of much older art styles and I really dig it.

It has this mystical sense to it that’s intriguingly eerie.

    Awesome.

  3. He also illustrated all the covers for ukrainian editions of Harry Potter books, those are really beautiful as well

  4. Oh I had so many of these! Loved The Snow Queen especially. She was so beautiful, though, that I was sort of rooting for her… 😅
