Continental European here, Starmer seems like a good guy and a decent politician. How do you brits value/see him?
What a bullshit headline. There’s nothing here besides a campaign promise. Nothing has actually happened to kill it.

It costs the UK £8 million a day (or £3 billion a year) to house illegal migrants in hotels across the country, let’s hope Labour are able to solve the crisis

However I only care about the reduction in illegals being washed up on our shores that we’re on the hook for.
Everyone had high hopes for Boris when he came into power before he decided to blow up his own premiership soI hope Sir Starmer doesnt think his premiership is a sure thing or has long terms legs if he proves to all mouth and no trousers.
I will judge this man on how he far he brings the boat crossings down. I couldn’t care less about how he does it or his well felt intentions and obstacles if he fails
Can expect the first awkward PR if there are any record breaking crossing numbers over the summer. Time to see what “smashing the gangs” means and how feasible that sort of international cooperation/surveillance/action is.
I think it’s more likely that this time next year that proves pretty unworkable and Labour move more to a “we just need to process them quickly and get them into work and out of sight” sort of policy.

Be killing off the NHS next, then devolution, just like he’s happy with the killing off of Palestinians.
