  1. So he obviously meant “the proof of the pudding is in the eating” and this is just a terrible translation.

  2. I am assuming he is referring to the English language idiom, proof of pudding is in the eating

  3. If you can make Lavrov say “Ah it’s you” with a look of sheer contempt you must be doing something right as a journalist

  4. Russia’s allies call this guy a brilliant diplomat. Russia’s adversaries say he’s abrasive, arrogant, and unremarkable. Go figure.

  5. You understand it’s novichok in your pudding when you eat it

  6. For literally 99% of people in the comments not knowing what he means: it’s an old saying about one not knowing whether or not the pudding was properly cooked until eaten, meaning he doesn’t know until they get to talking.

  7. > Diplomacy is not an art of guessing

Masterclass in diplomacy from the guy who threatens nuclear war every day after breakfast

  8. That pause followed by, “what is it?” Makes me proud to be British.

  9. “It’s me Sergey, you’re not dreaming”. Really hope I get to see this orc getting dragged through the streets by horses at high speed during my lifetime.

  10. Nah the face he made after saying it, he was like “uuuh I cooked this guy, please someone tell me you video recorded this”

  11. Great reporter I always look forward to his reports a very brave man and not a bad pianist !

  12. *Ah, t is you!? You didn’t drink that tea? Wait, I’ll give you some pudding….*
