  1. And the reason is… Tesla.

I know it’s not only Tesla that is building EV’s in Germany, but if they had built their factory in another EU country, Germany wouldn’t be close to second.

  2. Yeah, don’t ask me why. The automobile industry put most of their resources over the last decade into cementing the status quo and keeping combustion alive by any means necessary.

  3. As a Canadian who works in the mineral processing industry, this is extremely good news for us. We are more than happy to supply the critical mineral and energy needs of Europe. It will be wonderful to receive more European investment into this sector. Energy independence via dirty Canucks 🙂

  4. Good to see Europe is on the chart for EV production. It’s interesting there is no mention of Tesla in this article even though 25% of total German output is produced in Tesla’s gigafactory

  5. Oh yeah we can’t compete with #1 though which is why we are going to introduce insane import tariffs. Yeah, that will surely benefit the consumer and make them like us!

  6. Great. Now name a problem that electric cars are going to solve. Exhaust gasses and … ?

Cars are the problem. We should not be celebrating high production numbers. We should be fighting for better solutions for mobility.

  7. Losing in the Euros, 2nd in car sales. The Germans are slacking here lads.

  8. This is REALLY suprising to me, good news nonetheless. But on the other hand, there isn’t so much more EV production in the rest of europe anyways, is it?

  9. EV’s are shite. Try a summer holiday where you have to drive 1500km.
