Ukrainian drones attack Putin’s Black Sea naval base

Ukraine launched an overnight drone attack targeting the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, where Moscow’s once-revered Black Sea Fleet is hiding after it was forced to abandon its Crimean base in Sevastopol.

Russian officials restricted beach access after reporting its defence forces were engaged in repelling the drones, but claimed to have destroyed the threat.

“We kindly request you to refrain from visiting beach areas, embankments and recreational areas along the water’s edge during operational activities,” Mayor Andrei Kravchenko said on the Telegram.

The Russian ministry of defence claimed to have destroyed 12 drones launched at Russian territory.

  1. Something tells me the Houthi are much better at naval warfare than the Royal Navy assisted Ukrainian navy. Radakin needs to give up before one of his bigger ships goes properly bang.

  3. The Russian military foiled an attempt by Kiev forces to attack four regions in Russia using aerial drones and uncrewed boats over the night of July 2 and 3, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

    In a statement, the ministry said that Russian air defenses intercepted five drones over the region of Belgorod, four over the region of Bryansk and another over the Moscow region. No casualties or damage were reported in any of these regions.

    Russian naval forces in the Black Sea also destroyed two uncrewed boats which were heading towards the port of Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar Krai region, according to the ministry. Again, There were no reports of losses in the port after the attack.

    Video footage released by the ministry showed the boat being targeted with heavy machine guns and what appears to be guided anti-tank missiles.

    The Kiev regime intensified attacks on Russia with the start of the year, damaging infrastructure and killing and wounding a number of civilians. The main aim of these attacks appears to be to make up for the never ending failures of Kiev forces in the battlefield.

    In response, the Russian military resumed group strikes on military infrastructure and related energy facilities in Ukraine last March. The strikes inflicted heavy losses on the country. Still, the Kiev regime and its backers are planning to step up attacks on Russia, which will lead to an even harsher response.

  12. That's how a foolish proxy war of attrition goes. Each side attacks the other. US NeoCons are accomplishing their goal to "extend Russia" at the "expense of the Ukrainian people." Blinken said yesterday that he is hoping to keep the war "going forward over many years." So unless Trump wins, there will be many more years of this insanity.

  16. The explosion didn't look like a naval hit, just a drone being eliminated. They normally use more than two, so this is probably a test or probing action.
